CORETTA

July 22 – 23, 2015 (no photo available)

I’m one of only three females caught in the park so far. Like Cora, I am also a mom who has recently weaned my pup. Also, much like all the other bats caught in the park, I’m feeding in the park, but seem to be sleeping elsewhere as my roost can’t be found.

July 28 & 29, 2015

I’ve been out feeding every night and my roost has finally been located! I’m roosting in a cluster of trees on the very edge of the park next to Parkside Avenue! I emerge from my roost just after 9 pm to go out to feed until about 11pm.

I was still roosting in the same cluster of trees. I emerged around 9pm and went to feed in the park but then I moved out of range for most of the night. Around 11pm I returned to my roost area and fed for a bit then went in my roost, but I only stayed for 10 minutes. I moved around a lot then finally settled down in someone’s roof around 1:30 am.

I stayed in the roof for the day and it turns out I was with at least 30 other bats, which could all be seen leaving to feed at dusk!
